What if God was one of us?

(We are in HIS image, eh?) …the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. (John 1:14)

I had this earworm eating into my brain today: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hfk4FPdmFXk

Dr. Evil sings

What if God was one of us?
Just a slob like one of us
Just a stranger on the bus
Tryin’ to make his way home?

I see the cat has left me a little present… sheesh.  Oh well, she had a rough night I guess. I know she will be okay… it is a lot of responsibility to have a pet. More than we know. They say they are 2nd density beings and we are part of their ascent to 3rd density. That is a lot of responsibility… and it gives insight into what 4th, 5th, and 6th density beings are doing with us 3rd density beings. (This is what the Law of One teaches.) I am reminded again of Flatland.

Matthew 25:40 The king will answer them, ‘I tell all of you with certainty, since you did it for one of the least important of these brothers of mine, you did it for me.’ (ISV)

I had to look up the source of that earworm. I don’t know if I have ever heard the whole song, so I googled it.

What if God was one of us?
Songwriters: Eric Bazilian / Eric M. Bazilian

If God had a name what would it be?
And would you call it to his face?
If you were faced with Him in all His glory
What would you ask if you had just one question?

And yeah, yeah, God is great
Yeah, yeah, God is good
And yeah, yeah, yeah-yeah-yeah

What if God was one of us?
Just a slob like one of us
Just a stranger on the bus
Tryin’ to make his way home?

If God had a face what would it look like?
And would you want to see if, seeing meant
That you would have to believe in things like heaven
And in Jesus and the saints, and all the prophets?

And yeah, yeah, God is great
Yeah, yeah, God is good
And yeah, yeah, yeah-yeah-yeah

What if God was one of us?
Just a slob like one of us
Just a stranger on the bus
Tryin’ to make his way home?

Just tryin’ to make his way home
Like back up to heaven all alone
Nobody callin’ on the phone
‘Cept for the Pope maybe in Rome

And yeah, yeah, God is great
Yeah, yeah, God is good
And yeah, yeah, yeah-yeah-yeah

What if God was one of us?
Just a slob like one of us
Just a stranger on the bus
Tryin’ to make his way home?

Just tryin’ to make his way home
Like a holy rolling stone
Back up to heaven all alone
Just tryin’ to make his way home
Nobody callin’ on the phone
‘Cept for the Pope maybe in Rome

As we enter December, we are thrust into the final countdown to Christmas… Breakout your Advent Calendar!

So, what is it about the holidays which makes people realize, or feel loneliness exponentially? Perhaps it is simply the media and marketing machines which pound it into us. The noise scrapes away the numbness of the walls we build.

I often embrace loneliness as a time of introspection. During my high school years, I remember going alone to Disneyland at closing time just to watch people leave. Thousands of people around me, yet I was all alone. I remember laughing to myself at parents dragging crying children out of the park.

It was sad to think that was the last memory the kids had of Disneyland. I was amused at the fact the crying was happening in The Happiest Place on Earth.

This is the season for forgetting the happiness and forcing the façade.  Most forget the holiday spirits (invented by Charles Dickens). I wonder if any hearts will grow three sizes this season? Yeah, I am mixing my Christmas Specials… I’m okay with that.
